A Legacy of Eye Care in New Jersey

The Short Hills Ophthalmology Group is the oldest and largest eye care provider in the area. Dr. Gerald Fonda, a recognized low vision specialist, founded the practice in 1948. Over the decades it has grown to include two office locations and four physicians, each bringing focused training and clinical experience to the patients they serve.

Our physicians provide full-scope eye care, from routine vision exams through advanced surgical procedures. Services include small-incision, no-stitch cataract surgery, the latest LASIK technology, and a range of in-office treatments. A full-service optical dispensary and contact lens fitting are available on premises at both locations.

Dr. Farbowitz maintains a strong focus on incorporating modern diagnostic and treatment tools into daily patient care. The practice uses digital retinal photography, optical coherence tomography, and customized laser-assisted surgery so that each patient receives care matched to their specific condition. Our dedicated Dry Eye Clinic offers evaluation, patient education, and treatment options for meibomian gland dysfunction and other causes of chronic dry eye.
